Home sales decreased by 13.9% in El Paso County for the month of September when compared to the previous month of August. Sales were 15% higher when compared to September 2011.
There were 101 additional single family home sales in September 2012 when compared to September 2011. There were also an additional 474 single family homes for sale in September 2011. Inventory levels continue to remain much lower than they were around this time last year in Colorado Springs.
Compared to the previous month of August, the average sales price ($223,497) and the median sales price ($194,000) decreased. Last September, the average sales price was $218,526 and the median sales price was $187,250. Multiple offer situations are driving home sale prices upward.
