Home sales increased by 40.7% in El Paso County for the month of March when compared to February and sales were 6.8% lower when compared to March 2011.
There were 53 additional single family home sales in March 2012 when compared to March 2011. There were also an additional 1,199 single family homes for sale in March 2011. Inventory levels continue to remain much lower than they were around this time last year in Colorado Springs.
Compared to the previous month of February, both the average sales price ($217,097) and the median sales price ($189,000) increased. Last March, the average sales price was $211,426 and the median sales price was $180,000. Buyers are taking advantage of the opportunity to purchase a home with the current low interest rates and home prices.
